I think it stems back to my laziness? PUBYAC comes to me, and I check my email each day. However, I'd have to get into the habit of the Ning thing to make it work. It is interesting how some groups/things take off, while others don't. You're right - it is like a library program. Sometimes people come out of the woodwork to attend, while other times no one is to be found. I try to figure out ahead of time what people would like to attend, but that is difficult. I just tell myself it is like the disclaimer on my retirement funds - past performance is no indicator of future performance. I just can’t get into these ning things and other social network stuff.
